That's a big win for USD and the league against previously un-defeated Drake.

Also nice to see another men's league win against the Big Sky, especially considering it was on the road and Cal Poly was 4-2 coming in.

Cal Poly is in the Big WEST (CA schools conference, except for football). Similar situation to SDSU for MVFC, but Summit League for most sports.

There's really only one game worth noting (on either the men's or women's side) tonight.

Denver (men) (5-1) hosts Wyoming (4-2).

Denver is another Summit team with a shiny record, but a closer look reveals that it is nothing to get excited about (yet). The five teams they beat have a combined record of 11-25. Wyoming is nothing amazing, but would be a decent win.

The schedule is catching up with the Summit tonight on the men's side.

NDSU loses by 20.
UNO loses to E. MI.
IUPUI loses to Ball St.
ORU is down by 18 early in the second half.

Not a bad first half for the Bison. AM 790 coming in a little faint in Watertown but I have it on.

Added: Smart #@s wife (computer teacher) walks by and asks why I just don't listen on Tune-In Radio. So, the game's on the iPad Mini courtesy of static- and fade-free TuneIn Radio.

Iowa State extended its lead to 11 shortly after the second half opened but Bison have clawed back, 47-40 with 16:09 on the clock.

Yes, outstanding start for the Summit League men's teams. I hope this keeps up, though there are a couple of teams that never cause me to shed a tear when they lose.

Tonight's matchups are tough.

Ball St. is 5-2 with wins over SC St and Valpo.
E.Michingan is 4-2.
Iowa St is 5-0 and ranked 5th.
NM is 4-1.

A couple more weeks of this should separate the pretenders from the contenders.
