Someone posted/tweeted an article awhile back that said the Lions have taken 4 RBs on their active roster the last two years.

With how much of a fan favorite he is, I could see him ending up like John Kuhn when he played for for the Packers. Not in play style, but in being a solid contributor the fans LOVE. Instead of cheering KUUHHHHHHHNNNNNNN it would be ZZZZZZZZZZZ!

    Coach Caldwell on Zenner

“He’s a valuable member of our special teams, but he’s also a guy that’s very, very versatile from the backfield,” Caldwell said of Zenner. 'He can run the ball, he’s got a knack that he can make you miss.

“He also has an uncanny ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and find seams. He’s a well-rounded player, very smart, makes very few mistakes.”

Early assessment, but this article seems to think Zenner has a stronghold on the number 2 spot for now.

7 carries for 24 yards and 3 receptions for 30 yards. Not bad considering the Lions O-line.

Zach should have plenty of reps tonight in Pittsburgh. Sounds like Abdullah and Riddick won't get much run. (I hate puns). Excited to see him back on the field after an injury shortened season last year.

Zenner looks to be in line for some good reps next year if he stays healthy: http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf...mp_battle.html

I saw that too. My first thought was that I couldn't believe how small Woodhead is. He always looked small on TV, but wow. I'm excited to see Zenner back on the field again though. Football season can't start soon enough.
