    Are we in agreement?

You hate the Yotes. We hate the Jacks. But are you as a fan base to the point you hate all this crap going on?

There’s hardly an opportunity to say we out recruited you, or you out recruited us. Now what’s said is we paid more than you, or you paid more than us.

I still think there’s an opportunity to get our arms around this, but times running out. Our schools that we love so much are in deep trouble. If either one of us, or both of us recruit a talented athlete, in today’s world, you can bet your bottom dollar he’s gone. Or she’s gone.

I sent a proposal to the NCAA that basically said this. If a school comes in and offers one of our athletes $xxxx, they then have to pay the school they’re poaching 50% of that amount. Then at minimum, we get some money to bring high school talent, using that fee money to give to your recruit replacing the one being poached. Last year you lost your QB to Iowa. Let’s say for argument they paid him $750,000. Iowa would’ve had to pay SDSU $375,000 for development fee. You then can use that money to recruit players to fill your needs.

The FCS schools, and any program not in the SEC or Big 10 are gonna get crucified in today’s model. I’m talking football but I think would apply to any sport. We don’t, and you don’t, have the money to just recruit anywhere and everywhere. And now we’re just recruiting kids that are using our programs to be seen to move on. I’m getting sick of it. Constantly being asked to fund a program that’s well intentioned in an environment that’s poisoned.

What’s your thoughts on all this? I’m curious if you’re sick of it, or it’s just me

Im sure some lawyers are going to chime in. In the current model fi would like to see schools have protection by signing players to legal binding contracts. Just like pros. Could be 1-4 year deal. Could be be even deal, back loaded or front loaded etc. If a player wants to leave that new school would have to pay out that contract.

I figure lawyers wound fight against that but it would guarantee player and school protection the way I see it.
