To this unenlightened observer, both athletic departments seem to be willing to throw most sports under the bus for the sake of their nationally recognized money maker.

But hey, they're playing football in the Big East . . .

Re: Conference shuffling continues
Jay Bilas (along with many others) speaks about "streamlining" DI basketball in his blog this week. There is a lot of thinking going on about reducing the number of teams currently called DI for basketball. I've spoken about it on other threads and I'm pretty certain they'll be a day when the major conferences split away and form there own post-season tourney. I don't know for sure where that will leave the rest of us. Its going to be different for sure and I think the time is sooner than later.

Originally posted by BTownJack View PostThis is current as it was reported on ESPN just this week. Conference shuffling is a mess and it seems it will get messier before it calms down. The Summit and other similar mid-major conferences will see the trickle down effect eventually., my political colors are showing, but in a more serious vain, there are winners and losers, and I think BSU is one of the losers in the long run. They are backing themselves in a corner for other sports. I do concede that things would be looking better had they not lost to TCU last season.
