I don't know for sure where that will leave the rest of us. Its going to be different for sure and I think the time is sooner than later.
Could we see some top tier athletic programs simply split off from NCAA? Form their own association and in essence, take the money and run?

well like the saying go, you dance with the girl who brought ya, or ride the horse that took you or something to that effect. If that is where the money is and where more money can come from, it might be their best option to put all the proverbial eggs in one basket for the sake of the others.

BSU lost a premier conference for its non-football programs and they're scrambling to find a home. Now the WAC is imploding and no conference that seeks any kind of stability would want Boise State basketball, etc. At most, BSU will "park" its basketball programs, etc. until something better comes along.

But hey, they're playing football in the Big East . . .

I tend to think the jury is still out on the departure of ORU, MBB WBB and Baseball will miss this worthy opponent, but other wise they seemed to be so-so in other sports. The geography seemed to be a motivating factor in this move. This money thing is going to run its course and some one who invested heavily in facilities is going to come up short and might end up storing grain in these places. I am just rambling with fear today.

Yeah just like we got in Reaganomics., my political colors are showing, but in a more serious vain, there are winners and losers, and I think BSU is one of the losers in the long run. They are backing themselves in a corner for other sports. I do concede that things would be looking better had they not lost to TCU last season.
