SDSU has added 3 transfers from FBS schools, good news considering how thin our CB's would be for next year.

Winston Wright CB - Missouri
Freshman WR Dom Wright's brother, walked-on at Missouri. Runs in the 4.4's and benches 300. 5'10", 185

2 Star AZ player that Jacks had previously offered, decided against the military life. 5'11", 170

This is great to hear!! It's never a bad thing to have a little depth to the secondary. Also, all three of these guys play positions that tend to have a large impact on special teams - kickoff coverage & return, as well as punt coverage & return. We'll take it!

And by the way the Bizzzzzon are just waiting to transfer into the FBS, not the other way around. I'm still surprised they aren't already in the Big 12. Cheap shot? Maybe.

Is it football season yet? Just got my confirmation on my Tailgate spot(i.e. the money has been taken out of my account).

It was noted in the Argus today that Boykin & Wright will be scholarship players, while Kling will be a walk-on.

Here is the Argus link. This sounds like 3 really good additions that we are getting. Boykin will be a true freshman who originally signed with Army this past February over SDSU. He obviously changed his mind before he even put on the pads at Army.

I'd say this is great news and should help us out in the long run.

I think they always keep some scholly $ aside so they can be flexible. Plus, there are a couple players who aren't coming back this year (like Jake Weiss) so maybe thats were it came from.

Just a general comment:

FCS programs can offer partial scholarships. FBS schools cannot.

They generally keep money available heading into the start of the school year. Depending on what happens, they either 1) give that money to a late signee or 2) they hand it out as a partial schollie to someone who previously had no money or 3) use it to bolster someone who was previously on a partial who they felt deserved a bump in money.

Those are the happy meetings during fall camp for those that earn the bump. I still remember Daly calling me in, scared as to what was up, only to tell me I was getting a bump heading into the fall. Good times.
