Women's side: Jacks comfortably in second, but not as comfortably as Oakland is in first.

Oakland has what I believe is termed a 'mortal lock' on first.

Budahl set another school and conference record today, and if she wins the 200M breaststroke tomorrow she'll finish 10/10 in that event for the season.

Women - Team Rankings - Through Event 37

    1. Oakland 650
    2. SDSU 333

    3. South Dakota 288
    4. Centenary 281
    5. Western Illinois 254
    6. Eastern Illinois 252
    7. IUPUI 163

    Men's side:

The men are in fourth, and quite a ways behind 3rd.

They set a school record today in the 200M freestyle relay.

They finished 5th last year, and may be able to hang on to 4th (USD is 5th) tomorrow. The team is really young. 13 incoming freshmen this season. They finished fifth the first year they competed (in 2007, and ahead of IUPUI & Valpo), sixth the following year, and fifth again last year.

Men - Team Rankings - Through Event 37

    1. Oakland 564.5
    2. Centenary 388
    3. Eastern Illinois 370
    4. SDSU 262.5
    5. South Dakota 233
    6. Western Illinois 196
    7. IUPUI 129

I still find it hard to believe that IUPUI struggles to put together competitive teams in swimming, especially with the facility advantages they have. The IU Natatorium on the camus of IUPUI is the largest spectator pool in the US & has been the host facility for several US National Meets, & Olympic Qualifying tournaments. for more info on their pool: http://www.iunat.iupui.edu/competition-pool

Men finish 4th; ahead of the 'Yotes; They might be able to move up to 3rd next year--they improved their placement for the third year in a row, and return quite a few swimmers next year (they're only graduating 3)

Katie Budahl won the 200M breaststroke, 10 for 10 in that event this season, and if I'm reading the results right, set another Summit League and school record in it.

Budahl cruised to a 200 breast victory by over six seconds in 2 minutes, 13.18 seconds. It was her 40th career win in only two years at SDSU and the fourth school record that she has been a part of. For the season, the senior went a perfect 10-for-10 in 200 breast events.

Very good. The swim program is steadily improving.

But I thought 19 sports was too many and would prevent SDSU from being competetive.
