Basic gist is that you can get your name on a plaque in the locker room if you make a 1,000/year donation. (5 or 10 years)

Not to my understanding. It is essentially paying to have your name associated with the locker room. By giving money to help furnish the locker room you are a "locker legend" and will have a plaque announcing you as such. I think it is a great idea.
