SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Sophomore Keegan Ryan (Groveland, Ill./Morton) shot a career-best 75 and junior Breanne Neufeld (Coaldale, Alberta/Coaldale) matched her with a first-round 75 to help the Bradley women's golf team to fifth place after one round of play at the Payne Stewart Memorial Monday. Play at the par-72 Rivercut Golf Course was suspended late in the second round due to thunderstorms in the Springfield, Mo., area.

Ryan and Neufeld were tied for fifth and Bradley was alone in fifth following Monday morning's opening round. With most teams having between four and six holes remaining, second-round play will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. and will be followed by the third and final round of action.

Arkansas State's Jennifer Welch holds the individual lead after 18 holes, carding an even-par 72. Ryan and Neufeld are three shots back of Welch in a tie for fifth place after their opening round 75's. Sophomore Kelly Amundrud (Calgary, Alberta/Strathcona Tweedsmuir) shot an 82 and is tied for 45th overall, while junior Caitlin Deeken (California, Mo./California) is one shot behind Amundrud in a tie for 47th at 83 to round out the team scoring for the Braves.

Freshman Natalie Wisniewski (Williamsville, N.Y./South) made her Bradley debut, firing an 84 and entered the second round tied for 55th. Sophomore Erin Gorman (Rockford, Ill./Boylan) is in the field as an individual and is tied or 67th after a first round 86.

The Braves are fifth in the team standings at 315, 14 shots back of leader Arkansas State (301). Central Arkansas was second after 18 holes at 306 with tournament-host Missouri State following in third at 308. Drake is one shot behind Missouri State in fourth (309) and Bradley holds a one-shot lead on Southern Illinois (6th - 316) for fifth.

Missouri Valley Conference rival Northern Iowa is seventh (317) with South Dakota State (8th - 318) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (9th - 319) following closely behind. UMKC is 10th overall at 324 and has a one shot lead on Oklahoma City (11th - 325). SIU Edwardsville was 12th heading into the second round at 330, with Creighton (13th - 332), Cal State Fullerton (14th - 340) and South Dakota State (15th - 352) rounding out the field, respectively.
