This is definately good news. Considering Kyle Harris' solid performance last Saturday, do we have the makings of a kicker controversy?

If so, that would be a first. We're used to hearing the term quarterback controversy, but not so much with the kickers normally.

Perhaps not a controversy, but at least the staff knows that they don't have to put alot of time into recruiting another kicker for a couple years. One less thing to worry about.

I'm very happy for Pete, although it's frustrating that he has lost a game to this situation.
          Holy nutmeg!

This just shows the depth that we are now starting to have with our Jackrabbits. I think Harris is the better kicker, or has the most upside.

I would imagine Harris will continue to kick-off? He looked very good last week.

Remember that Pete was a pre-season all MVFC pick. And last year, he was the second-team all-conference PK and had arguably better stats than the guy who was first team. He's pretty accurate inside of 45 yards.

Last season, Pete had three games with 3 FBs, including three 40+ yard FGs against NDSU that were pretty clutch. So he's no slouch. The coaches tell me Pete has worked as hard as anybody and has improved more than most during his time here.

There's a thread on anygivensaturday.com that's titled "Does anyone have a good kicker?"

                We've got two.

I don't think that's the situation. Peter is a field goal specialist and Harris handles kickoffs. Harris has more leg strength, and Reifenrath has been more accurate. That's why they were in those rolls this year, and why they will be in those rolls again this year IMHO.

What it does mean is that as JJ says, we have two good kickers, and both can serve as backup for the other's speciality. That is a VERY good thing! Glad to have you back, Peter!
