  • Any word on the coaching search?

I think the thread says it all.

None, but I am pulling for Ritchie. Seems to be a great person besides coming from a good baseball family. His dad is coach at Kansas I believe.

Re: Any word on the coaching search?

Terry V. will be addressing this in the Tuesday Tidbits tomorrow. Not sure there is a lot of information available right now but Mr. Sell needs to get going on this or it will set the baseball program back with recruiting more than the delay already has.

I know one new recruit hopes Ritchie is back.

I was told by 3 of Ritchie's players tonight that the Interim label has been removed. Congratualtions Ritchie on becoming the new Head Baseball Coach for the Jacks. I wish you continued success.

That would be correct. Ritchie is now THE Head Coach.

                Cool. He earned it.

Good news if this is the case. The team had a great second half and he seems to have it going in the right direction. Seems to be an extremely hard worker with the drive to keep the program on the upswing.

                      Congrats to Ritchie!

Good news. Congrats to Ritchie. Looks like he started to turn things around in the second half, but had a tough schedule to start with.

I am pulling for Ritchie as much as anyone, but unless AD Sell changed his mind over night, Terry is saying something else.

I believe a full search is needed. Not saying Ritchie is not the right guy for the job, but the search should be done right. Otherwise SDSU is doing an injustice to the baseball program and its alumni and boosters.

The search is over. Ritchie has been named the permanent head coach. There were plenty of applications for the job but he definitely earned it and I think he'll do a great job without the added pressure of being "interim". What the program needs the worst is a true, fulltime assistant(not grad assistants) coach, preferably a pitching coach. You can't get much continuity when the longest you ever have an assistant is 2 years.
