Jacks at Vance Butler Invitational

The Jackrabbit men and women had impressive performances at the Vance Butler Invite hosted by Augustana in Sioux Falls, Friday. The meet had been set for Saturday but was moved up a day to avoid bad weather.

Considering the windy, cool, conditions, and the early date for the meet, this team did well. Here's the story on GoJacks.com: LINK.

Sara Ackman qualified for the NCAA Regional in the disc. She also won the shot. Ben Jasinski won the triple jump and was about six inches short of the Regional qualifying standard. [Last weekend he exceeded the Regional qualifying standard in the triple jump but, since there was no wind meter at that meet, it wasn't an official qualifier. It was reported today that he had one jump that was WAY out there but he scratched on the takeoff by about an inch...the guy has some real jumping ability!]

Here's a link to the results on Augustana's website: LINK Unfortunately, SDSU athletes are listed under "South Dakota" as are USD athletes. It appears the program used only accepts a limited number of letters. So, you have to know who you're looking for...compare with the team roster and look at the GoJacks article.

There are a number of noteworthy performances, particularly given the cold temp and wind.

That is very strange that the Augie site would list SDSU and USD as South Dakota. If you look at the results from the USD site, it labels SDSU as "SDSU" and USD as "South Dakota".

Good catch. I didn't look at the USD site. Maybe a different (corrected) version was sent to participating schools? Perhaps someone at USD took the time to make corrections? In any event...go to the USD link provided by NorCalJack.
