  • Men's Golf Winning at KU!

Looks like our men's golf team continues to play well. They take a one stroke lead into the 3rd and final round tomorrow of the Kansas University Invitational. Just behind them are UC-Davis and Texas Christian. Best of luck to the men's team tomorrow as they try to earn their 2nd ever D-I team title in as many weeks. Trent Peterson finds himself in the lead after shooting 3-under (70-71) today. It might be worth a look too to see who is at the bottom of the team standings .

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Senior Trent Peterson is the individual leader and the Jackrabbits also hold the top spot in the team standings after the first day of the Kansas Fall Invitational.

Nice work once again SDSU Men's Golf!

Can't wait to hear what happens in the last 18, hopefully the fellas can hold them off.

73 shots between FIRST place (SDSU) and LAST place (USD). That's A LOT of swings.

    Go Jacks!!

I jut finished reading the Press & Dakotan here in Yankton. They had a little article about Walsh leading USD to 16th place. The last line stated that South Dakota State was leading the event. That brought a smile, or maybe it was a smirk, to my face.

Good luck to the Jacks during the last round today. Keep us updated.

This team is really going to be strong this year! Three very talented and experienced seniors will carry them a long ways. There are also a lot of very talented under classmen that will be pushing hard to make the travelling team. That all bodes well for this year and the future.

To me, men's golf is one of the great things about the move to D1. South Dakota has plenty of talented junior golfers and it is great to see them have the opportuntiy to compete at this level without leaving the state.

Great job and good luck today to Coach Baszler and the team! Start a winning streak!

Here is the paragraph from today's sports page. No mention of the number of teams or the fact that they are in last place by a LONG WAYS.

Not only last, but last by 32 shots behind the 15th place team. I don't care if you are a 1st year transitioning team, that's poor.

Tough last day for the Jacks. UC Davis looks tough...that's a lot of low scores for a lot of guys.
