Yesterday, my girlfriend's grandpa passed away. He was a great guy. Turns out he used to be an equipment manager for the football team. I'm wondering how many members knew him from the football team. It would be appreciated by the family if any experiences/memories were shared.

Bruce R. Begalka, age 78, of Brookings, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at the White Healthcare Center in White, South Dakota. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Brookings, with interment and military rites at Hillcrest Cemetery at Estelline, South Dakota. Visitations will be from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M. Monday at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings.
On August 19, 1956, Bruce married Bonnie Jean Kasdorf. Their marriage was blessed with four children. Bruce was employed on farms in the Midwest area. He was employed by Hamlin County, worked as a carpenter, was football equipment manager at SDSU, and worked for McCrory Gardens at SDSU. He was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
