  • Softball Coach Signs Pro Contract

    Found this story on GoJacks.com

South Dakota State graduate assistant softball coach Tracie Adix signed a professional contract with the Chicago Bandits of the National Professional Fastpitch League this week.

“We already knew that Tracie brought the best of collegiate softball to our staff and it’s great to see her earn a spot on an NPF team,” said SDSU head softball coach
Joanna Lane. “This allows Tracie to complete a full season with the Jacks before her professional duties begin and her involvement with the NPF will only help to bring more notoriety to the Jackrabbit program, which our kids are very deserving of. We believe Tracie's presence in practice from throwing BP for our hitter to being a mentor to our pitchers will only help to advance our program.”

Congrats to Tracie and the team. Looks like the Jacks did another nice job of hiring.

If anyone remembers watching Depaul in the Softball College World Series last year, she was pitching. The pitcher from Tennessee, Arizone, and her all received the award for the 3 best pitchers in the country.

She was a late addition to the Jackrabbit program after she decided to take a break from softball for a little bit.

Yeah, she is definately one of the best the NCAA had to offer last season as evidenced by her 2nd team All-American honors and Big East Player of the Year award.

Actually, she was a late addition because she was in Europe fulfilling a pro playing obligation, not because she decided to take a break.....She's a great addition to Coach Lane's staff and her CWS experience will be an invaluable asset as the Lady Rabbits look to have some more success and build a tradition on the diamond!

Welcome to SDSU Tracie and good luck with the Bandits!

I know she was in Europe. But things didn't go so well for her over there so I "phrased" it the way I did.

'Things didn't go so well over there for her' - Interesting post! As far as I know, she played at her usual high level, had alot of fun, and would recommend the experience to anybody who had the opportunity. As a matter of fact, she left Europe a little earlier than planned so she could join SDSU's program ASAP! That doesn't sound like anything needing 'phrasing' - again, welcome to Brookings & SDSU, Tracie!
