Time of Possession in 1st quarter:
      WC 11:07; STM 43

STM forced a punt on WC first possession, but they need to get a stop soon, as they went 3 and out.

WC has 4th and 1 on the STM 6 yard line, and they get 1.5 yrds. Then a touchdown.

STM needs something to change the momentum or this will get out of hand.

WC is getting a huge pass rush; STM punts it back after getting one or two first downs. 4:32 left in the 2nd, WC starts its 4th possession at about their own 35.

West Central up 17-7- at the half. Not a good team to try and come from behind against.

Line dominance by WC on both sides of the ball. If STM somehow pulls this off, it would be the greatest 4th quarter comeback in playoffs.

              WC 37 STM 7 end of 3.

WC puts it in again, 44-7.

It is looking like STM has thrown the towel in.

STM runs the kickoff back all the way, 81 yards, for the score. guess the kick return team hasn't thrown in the towel.

                    Re: SD HS Playoffs

STM has to take a timeout on the extra point as they didn't have enough players on the field. That's the way the day has gone for them.

I really thought this game would be a lot closer, especailly after STM scored right away, but WC they just grind and grind and wear out the defence.

Well I had that one picked in the favor of West Central 45-20. Off just a little bit.
                          Let's see what happens between Groton and Tri-Valley. I'll take Tri-Valley 43-12.

Austin Luecke from Groton was named the Joe Robbie "Back of the Game" and the game MVP. It is unusual for a player from the losing team to take home the awards. It happens, but not very often. Austin is the player whose father is awaiting a heart transplant in Rochester. There have been fundraisers for the family in many northeast SD communities. His father is a graduate of Clear Lake.
