    The Rabbits handled the Dakota Wesleyan, in the "Trap" game before taking on Big Ten Minnesota. Nice work on the hill from Morsching. Now go get the Gophers.

    I'm sure it was a great experience for the Tigers as well as a much-needed semi-home game (at least it was in S.D.) for the Jacks.

      In the race for the Great Plains Athletic Conference title, Tuesday’s matchup with NCAA Division I South Dakota State meant absolutely nothing to Dakota Wesleyan’s baseball team and head coach Adam Neisius.

      From the competitive standpoint, however, Wesleyan’s three-error and sometimes maddening 9-2 loss to the Jacks at Cadwell Park was a downer for the Tigers and Neisius.

      “It’s not the end of the world. Obviously, the weekend games are more important than the mid-week games,” said Neisius, whose team had among its three errors a botched throw from the catcher to the pitcher that scored a SDSU run from third and a putout attempt on a routine infield grounder sail wildly over first baseman Shane Cochran’s head. Both resulted in SDSU runs. And while the Tigers are 11-3 (21-13 overall) and are alone in first place atop the GPAC standings, Neisius said the loss Tuesday stings because much of the damage done against DWU was self-inflicted and, despite State’s NCAA D-1 affiliation, he strongly feels Wesleyan can contend with the 17-13 Jacks. . . .
