Golden Eagles Ink Prep School Trio

TULSA—Cornerstone (Texas) Christian School teammates Jonathan Dunn (Toledo, Ohio), Tim Morton (Greenbelt, Md.) and Clement N’Gom (Gue de Longroi, France) have signed National Letters-of-Intent to play basketball at Oral Roberts University, ORU head coach Scott Sutton announced on Friday.

The trio helped lead coach Walter Webb’s Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, Texas) elite prep team to a 32-11 record and the National Association of Christian Athletes national championship in March.

“I’m excited about all three players,” said ORU head coach Scott Sutton. “All of them come from a great basketball program at Cornerstone where they spent the past year playing against some of the best high school players in the country. Jonathan, Tim and Clement have a chance to make an immediate impact on our program.”  .  .  .  (read more)

Oral Roberts University signed three basketball players from an elite prep school program in San Antonio to national letters of intent Friday, bringing the Golden Eagles' recruiting class to five.

Jonathan Dunn, Tim Morton and Clement N'Gom led Cornerstone Christian to a 32-11 record and the National Association of Christian Athletes championship in March.

Oral Roberts has hired Conley Clarke, the father of Oklahoma's No. 1 basketball recruit -- Verdigris guard Rotnei Clarke, who will be a senior next season.

Conley Clarke becomes ORU's director of basketball operations.

Some fans and even some media members have been quick to predict that Rotnei Clarke, because his dad is on the ORU staff, will sign with the Golden Eagles.

If that happens, it would be the greatest recruiting triumph in school history.

Keep in mind that Clarke has gotten scholarship offers from a bunch of schools, including Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Gonzaga, Arizona State, Marquette, Missouri State, Nebraska, UNLV, Washington State and West Virginia. At last count, he had received more than 1,200 letters from Division I programs. . . . (read more)
