  • UMKC has the No. 38 WBB Recruiting Class

Well it sounds like UMKC has a very good class of women's basketball players coming in this year.  Here is the story

Women's Basketball Recruiting Class Ranked No. 38 In The Nation

The recruiting class includes four junior college and two high school players

    June 13, 2007

Tampa, Fla. - The UMKC women's basketball recruiting class has received national recognition, as it is ranked as the No. 38 class in the nation by the Dan Olson Collegiate Girls Basketball Report. Head Coach Candace White-Whitaker and Associate Head Coach Brett Schneider signed a total of six players to the incoming class, which includes four junior college and two high school players.

Below is what Dan Olson has to say about each of the Kangaroo signees.

Stephany Scheuring (6-4, C, Manilla, Iowa/IKM) will provide UMKC with valuable size and upside for the future.

LaShandra McCoy (5-6, PG, Okaloosa-Walton CC-Fla.) offers quickness, penetrating skills and leadership at the position, while also providing experience at the Division I level. McCoy opened her career at Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2005-06.

Taushelle Rushing (5-8, SG, Seward County, Kan.) brings a scorer's mentality to the team. She led SCCC to the NJCAA national semifinals in 2007.

It should be interesting to see how we stack up against this class for the next two years. I hope they have a good team, the Summit League needs to improve and UMKC is usually at the bottom, so it is good to see them improve.

    Go State!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)
