jackmd, I didn't know that was your town was so desolate and isolated. It's not surprising that USD people may act a little wacky if they have such a horrible neignbor to the west......

Seriously, the Feds must be desperate to crack down on gun crime in and around St. Louis. Isn't the federal prison in Yankton or a low or medium secirity outfit? This is a pretty distorted ad campaign......Perhaps they should re-open Alcatraz or construct a new hell-hole if they really want to scare prisoners.

    quote from the story:

"These public service announcements, which have run in the Eastern District of Missouri describing Yankton as '600 miles away from nowhere,' are inaccurate....."

That statement is true. Yankton is only about 25 miles from usdII!

The Argus wrote an editorial on the Justice Department's Yankton poster. They had the potential to ridicule the short-sightedness of the federal government (and something I should have mentioned further yesterday). The prison camp in Yankton is a minimum-security facility; why would you send dangerous, gun-toting thugs from St. Louis and East St. Louis (arguably the WORST city in the U.S.) to Yankton? In addition, East St. Louis is in Illinois! (unless the district's territory extends into East St. Louis)

Jackmd might have some busy nights in the E.R. if they started shipping these thugs to Yankton..........
