That is cool that Brad is recognized as the #2 Sr. QB in I-AA. I see that GSU's guy is # 1 for option QBs. Kind of a cool match up down in GA this fall.

Swami had more to say when he did the Great West Football Conf. breakdown. He really likes Brad, and Josh Davis and Anthony Watson also received some love:

Probably the two best pro prospects here are Vincent Jackson and Brad Nelson. Both are highly coveted. . . .

      1st Team Offense
WR Vincent Jackson, Northern Colorado, Sr.
WR Josh Davis, South Dakota State, Jr.
TE Paul Sweitzer, Northern Colorado, Jr.
OL Ben Cobain, Cal Poly, Sr.
OL Iosefa Robins, Southern Utah, Sr.
OL Cody Fannin, Cal Poly, Sr.
OL Matt Vincent, St. Mary’s, Sr.
OL Rob Hunt, North Dakota State, Sr.
QB Brad Nelson, South Dakota State, Sr.

~I have one addition to these lists. I think Tom Higbee, C from Champlain Park needs to be added. He's a great center and I think has a great chance of being picked up next year... just needs to control his temper from the looks of things on the field.

I would agree Higbee has been playing a lot of ball for SDSU, and he has had his emotional moments without a doubt, but that has its good and bad points both.  I wonder where Swami is getting his information.  I do like his praise of certain SDSU players, but I dont know if we are really ahead of NDSU. Even in the 2-8 season, the Bison had talent. They just seemed to be demoralized and that coupled with bad coaching seem to be the reasons for the losses. It certainly was not the talent.

I expect that their talent will show more this year than in the past season.  If SDSU wins on Oct 9, it will be an upset.

Hopefully our new coaching staff have made some good changes, but right now I would wager on something else besides the SDSU Vs NDSU game.  I will never wager against the Jacks. A four of a kind on a video poker machine seems to be a better wager to me.

Re: Swami has Nelson ranked #2 Pro Prospect

Good lord, with this much talent. the Jacks have little excuse not to be challenging for the inaugural GWFC championship!

On the other hand, looks like the Swami hasn't gotten the word about St. Mary's, so I'll take his recommendations with a grain of salt.

Re: Swami has Nelson ranked #2 Pro Prospect

Swami released an outlook before St. Mary's left. He recently released an updated version. None of the Jackrabbits moved. However the team dropped from #3 to #5. Not sure if this is a reflection of how he felt spring ball went, or if he made that classic mistake of not knowing his Dakotas when he did his original list. Her is a link to his most recent list.

No Doubt Swami likes SDSU's team with the above players mentioned, Not much love for our new rivals - the Southern Utah Thunderbirds with this list.

Slight change to my above post... Swami has finally put some SUU players on the lists

Re: Swami has Nelson ranked #2 Pro Prospect

                    I found another flaw...

                    2nd Team
"LB Chris Coauette South Dakota State, Sr. "

There is nothing second team about Chris Coauette, injured or not. I'd take him on my team over any other middle linebacker out there. Period.

I agree about Coauette, I expect him to be playing on Sundays in the future.
