No. 19 Georgia Southern (5-3) at South Dakota State (4-3), 2:00
Georgia Southern has to win out to have a shot at making the playoffs, and the Eagles have their biggest obstacle to that goal when they host No. 2 Furman next week. But they can’t get caught looking ahead against a South Dakota State team that played well defensively against Montana, Cal Poly and UC Davis. The Jackrabbits hold opponents to 3.7 yards per carry, and are only allowing 19.1 ppg. The Eagles also have a long trip to make, and will get a much tougher test from South Dakota State than last year’s 63-7 cakewalk. Georgia Southern has hit its stride in big wins against overmatched opponents, but hasn’t pulled off a win in a close game since knocking off Northeastern in overtime to open the season. South Dakota State’s defense will keep this game close as well, but the Eagles are due to win one soon. It’s just hard to picture Georgia Southern being out of the mix before they even play Furman, so I’ll go with an Eagle victory in Brookings.
Prediction: Georgia Southern 27, South Dakota State 20

No. 10 Cal Poly (5-2) at UC Davis (4-3), 4:00
It’s amazing how fast things can change. A week ago, Cal Poly was sitting pretty with wins against Montana State and North Dakota State and setting its sights on a possible top four seed. Now, Cal Poly’s loss at Montana means the Mustangs need to be perfect to feel comfortable about their playoff chances. With UC Davis and Eastern Washington up on the schedule, and with quarterback Anthony Garnett out with an injury, winning out is a daunting task to say the least. Cal Poly has succeeded with the running game led by James Noble, but won’t have as much of a balanced threat without Garnett. Against the UC Davis defense, that’s not a good thing. The Aggies shut down the New Hampshire passing game, slowed the Portland State running game, and overwhelmed the Stanford and North Dakota State offenses. UC Davis only gives up 2.9 yards per carry and 84.9 rushing yards per game, and has intercepted 10 passes. However, there is good news for the Mustangs. While UC Davis’ defense can shut down the Mustang offense, Cal Poly can do the same thing to the UC Davis attack. Montana beat the Mustangs by sticking with the running attack, but UC Davis only averages 2.6 yards per carry. The Aggies have lost three times this season largely because the offense is inconsistent. This game should come down to the final minutes in a low-scoring battle where defenses dominate throughout. With a healthy Garnett, I’d like Cal Poly to pull it out in the end. But without Garnett at quarterback, UC Davis has more experience and a better playmaker behind center with Jon Grant. Just like last season, Grant will lead a late drive to propel UC Davis to the victory and create a three-way tie in the loss column at the top of the Great West standings.
Prediction: UC Davis 16, Cal Poly 13

North Dakota State (4-3) at Southern Utah (1-5), 8:00
Southern Utah salvaged something out of the 2005 campaign by knocking off Northern Colorado, 20-17. But the Thunderbirds aren’t likely to go on a winning streak anytime soon, even against the disappointing Bison. North Dakota State looked great early in the season, but two conference losses leave them playing out the string the rest of the way. The Bison couldn’t get anything going against the tough UC Davis defense in Saturday’s loss, but expect them to bounce back against the suspect Thunderbird "D". Kyle Steffes should have a field day running the ball for NDSU, while the Bison defense shuts down a Thunderbird offense that has yet to score more than 21 points in a game.
Prediction: North Dakota State 31, Southern Utah 14

Dougherty gives us no respect. The Citadel gave up 112 ypg on the ground and we got 365. This should be interesting, though because I don't know much about your defense.
What I do know is that the entire team plays hard and has a lot of respect from Georgia Southern. It definitely will be a different game from last year.

How close will the game be- yet to be seen but the odds are not good in SDSU holding GSU to 27 points.

as i said before GSU does not like a low scoreing game.
you see its just not a good thing

Well some people think it's going to be close as the line on the game has Georgia Southern only favored by three points.
