13 Jacks Earn Academic All-GWFC Honors
Thirteen South Dakota State University players have earned academic all-Great West Football Conference honors for the 2005 season.
Four Jackrabbits are repeat selections including senior defensive back Mitch Klein, one of two players on the team with a straight A 4.000 cumulative grade point average. The other is Northern Colorado safety Reed Doughty
SDSU’s other repeat selections are defensive back Scott Breyfogle, linebacker Marty Kranz and safety John Perry.

Thirty-eight Jackrabbit players had a grade point average of 3.000 (B) or higher for the fall semester including five with a 4.000 GPA – Steven Bazata, Casey Bender, Casey Knips, Koenig and Klein. Bazata, Bender and Knips are all first-year freshmen. Bazata is a defensive lineman from Howells, NE; Knips an offensive lineman from Adrian, MN; and Bender a tight end from Lindsay, NE.
