Except for that first damn game with La Crosse that is looking like one heck of a good schedule. Suprised we have to go to NDSU again. Glad to see the 21st is an away game (pheasant opener). I think one of the TBA's will be Texas St. and one will be left OPEN. As for the last TBA ????

      William Penn?

Couldn't we do a bit better than this? Pennsylvania, maybe?

I agree filbert, i was all right with the three lower division schools this year, but already a d3 and an NAIA for next years schedule. We have to do better than that.

I would rather see an NCC team or maybe Northern than Wisc Lacrosse. I would hope we will see Montana in Brookings in 2007 and certainly better see NDSU at Coughlin in 2007!

Does anybody remember if Southern University is making a return trip to Brookings in 06?

shouldnt the NDSU game be at Coughlin? and shouldn't the UC Davis game be an away game?

i thought we flip flopped every year in conference play :'(

(yes i would cry over this)

                Re: 2006 schedule

The NCC schools have no desire or need to play either SDSU or NDSU, so I can't imagine them showing up in the near future. Also tough to fill schedules when many teams probably have schedules out for 3-4 years. Many teams probably don't want to make a return trip to Brookings, and Stig will only schedule so many one way trips against top IAA schools, so filling the schedule becomes tricky.

Anyone know why no UNC on the schedule?

The old NCC schedule rotated every three years. Could be that when the GWC was set up the schedule was such that there was a two year home and home, then they reshuffled the deck for another set rotation. Just speculation on my part.

I believe that when the conference was set up the plan was to balance the schedule after year two. If you figure UNC possibly coming here then we would have had 3 road games and 2 home. The NDSU game baffles me though. We have alternated home and away with them for at least 20 years.

UNC not on the schedule because they will be in the Big Sky. The conference is still trying to balance out home and away games and is the reason we play at NDSU twice in two years and have Cal Davis at home again.

UNC will be in the big sky next year, they dont have to schedule the rabbits. and since they dont have to, why would they - they are trying to escape our fury. ;D

I realize it will take time, but we need more balance for home and away in the Great West. It will be more important later on if an auto-bid is a possiblity, but even right now at GWFC title is what the team is playing for.

I see that Maine (2-5) played William Penn this year 28-0.

Wonder how much we pay them to play us? Can't imagine a big turnout in November for this game.

I trust the coaching staff on scheduling. But, as good a program as LaCrosse is I wish we would at least schedule a D2 team...
