McNeese's Pousson has impressive streak going

LAKE CHARLES - Not many offensive linemen can look at carrying a streak over into another season.

They're not like a running back who may have a string of consecutive 100 yard rushing games going or a wide receiver with a pass caught in every game, a quarterback with a touchdown pass thrown in each game or a place kicker with a field goal kicked in so many straight.

McNeese State offensive tackle Brent Pousson does have a streak and it's one that he would like to continue its run this season. He hasn't given up a sack in his collegiate career.

And, that covers three years and 31 games. It would have been 32 games had he not sat out a contest last year because of an injury.

"I can't remember any game last year that he came close to giving up a sack," said Cowboy assistant coach Lark Hebert who coached the McNeese offensive line last year but has moved to defense for the coming season.

"He may have given up a sack or two during practice but that would be the only time."

The 6-5, 297 pound Pousson is regarded as one of the top offensive linemen in the 1-AA ranks this year and has been tabbed as a pre-season all-Southland Conference pick as well as selected on some pre-season all-American squads. . . . (read more)

Almost seems like bulletin board material.
