Montana's Lex Hilliard out for the year

Picked this story up on Any Given Saturday about Lex Hilliard going down for the year with an achilles injury.  There hasn't been an official annoucement yet but the Montana fans seem to be agreeing with what has been said so far.  

Always bad news to see a player go down.  Definitely a tough break for Montana.

UPDATE: Montana has now released official story stating Hilliard will require season-ending surgery.  He will redshirt this year and return next year as a senior.

Hate to see injuries like that, watched Hilliard play against the Jacks last fall in Montana, he is an excellent back. Big and Fast. Wishing him a full recovery

If there is any silver lining its that he can redshirt and return next year. Injuries are an unfortunate but real part of any athletics at all levels.

Looks like Chad Greenway will have to sit out his rookie year with the vikes also because of injury.

Lived out in Montana for a few years and my last was his first year. I used to get my fix by going to all the Griz games, he was something to watch even as a freshman. What a stud. Too bad.

hope rehab goes well for these guys. it's a shame not being able to play a whole year just ask wags when he a a junior in h.s. on varsity basketball when he got mono. it sounds like montana has a great rb core. i guess a positive if you can call it a positive is that it gives us something less to defend against if the other rbs are bad. lets hope these young stars come back strong from injury next year.
