Chris Kelly did an interview with the GWFC commissioner Ed Grom. The interview is about half way down the page. Some interesting answers about the conference.

Here is an interesting quote:

We have had conversations with several institutions, some that are already active and some that are not active and some that are members of other leagues. For many reasons, we cannot share the names of those teams, but rest assured, discussions are taking place to improve the Great West."

Bottom line is that the auto bid is years off and the SU's would have to be comfortable in assuming that they would get a playoff bid if they won the conference. Given the programs in the Great West now that would be a likely to happen.
