    Tennis drops match to Citadel

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The South Dakota State University men’s tennis team closed out competition at the Air Force Invitational Satuday falling to Citadel (S.C.), 7-0.

    The Bulldogs swept both the singles and doubles portion of the match to defeat the Jacks.

    In doubles action, Corey Paluch and Steve Grantz fell to Danielle Dossetor and James Eason, 8-2, at No. 1 doubles. Dossetor and Eason are currently ranked No. 20 in the Fila/ITA collegiate tennis rankings.

    In singles play, Dossetor upended Paulch at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2, while Matt Gill fell in two-sets at No. 6 singles to Fredric Petrilli. Gill, a sophomore from Pierre, was upended by Petrilli, 6-3, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Grantz dropped a hard fought match to Eason. The junior lost, 6-2, 6-0.

    South Dakota State, 0-4, will look to collect its first win of the spring season Feb. 16 against Duquesne (Pa.) in St. Peter, Minn.
