A copied letter from Chris Bono...

    Hello Jackrabbit Nation

Thank you to all you came out and made our JWC golf outing the best one in history. The support in and around our program is at an all time high.

Just a few quick updates before we get the season rolling

Our first Jacked up Monday will be released this upcoming Monday, Oct 2nd.

We will have our official #GETJACKED gear online shortly, be on the lookout.

The Dak open is Nov 5th and our first home dual is Nov. 17th vs MN (we want to sell this out). We only have 150 reserved season tickets left, call the ticket office ASAP!

Our next and new fundraiser will be DEC 9th. Save the date. It will be a good one.

Seth Gross has been selected to compete in the NWCA all star meet NOV 5th in Princeton, NJ.

JWC athlete and SDSU Coach, Jon Reader will be making his comeback to international competition Nov 3 at the Dave Shultz Memorial in Colorado Springs, CO.

We have hired Austin Broin as our executive director of the JWC. Austin is in the process of developing a website for our club, which will help members stay up to date with all that is going on with Jacks wrestling. He is fired up and will help take the club to the next level. His contact info is austin.broin@jacks.sdstate.edu.

We have hired Cody Caldwell as our new assistant coach as well!

Thank you for those who have joined our JWC this year. We are looking at getting 250 club members this year. We are well on our way. Please join. I have attached the registration form. Please send form and checks to JWC/Chris Bono, 2820 Hper Bld, Brookings, SD 57007

Wrestling room project. We have a quite a few donations in! Thank you. We need to raise quite a few more dollars to get this project rolling and completed. The room is a huge need and one of the last steps to get our program over the top. Please contact myself if you have the desire to contribute.

If you have any questions, please email me! Thank you for making SDSU and Brookings such a special place. We look forward to selling out frost arena and making it the toughest place in America to wrestle in!

    Is the season here yet?

Attached is JWC club form, please consider joining

    Thanks,

    Coach Bono

Coach is right, this is the next step to taking this program to the next level. I think we will see what many $20-$100 donations will be able to do. This program is amongst the fastest growing successful programs in the NCAA in any sport. I can't wait for the season, the Minnesota dual should be electric, rivaling that of the Iowa dual if not surpassing it. I think we definitely set an attendance record that night. #GETJACKED

Not only the Wrestling Club is a next step but getting enough money put together for the new wrestling room (practice, coaches offices, etc.) will be huge.

I mailed in my JWC membership form and payment today.

In case anybody is wondering why a club? All Division 1 schools have wrestling clubs. This allows the wrestlers to train year round, outside of the NCAA offical season. They train under the USA Wrestling Club Umbrella. The wrestlers are members of USA Wrestling. USA Wrestling provides the insurance and club status with paid membership.

The Bison have the Bison Wrestling Club at https://www.facebook.com/bisonwrestlingclubnd/
The Gophers have the Minnesota Wrestling Club at http://www.mnwrestlingclub.org/

Penn State has two clubs; Penn State Wrestling Club at http://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org/ & Nittany Lion Wrestling Club at https://www.nittanylionwrestlingclub.com/
The Nittany Lion Wrestling Club has huge financial backing. Interesting article,"Tax forms reveal stunning finances at Nittany Lion Wrestling Club" at http://www.flowrestling.org/article/...b#.WdZh6ltSxEY

Thank you for this explanation, I thought it was Odd that the checks were to go to the Coach, but now it makes sense.

Yes, please let me know if interested! I’d love to expand to wrestling but don’t know enough or have the time.

Thanks for thinking of me, but I'm no insider. I'm just a fan. Everything I post, is stuff I found elsewhere, copy and paste it here. I do that so Jacks Fans can find it here and not have to check several other websites.

I think Cody Caldwell or Zack Reed would be great contributors as they are insiders.
