  • Stupid Use of the Wildcat

Turns out that college teams (any one in particular come to mind ?) aren't the only ones that still make stupid use of this formation. Houston is on the verge of getting back in their play-off game with the Chiefs with first and goal inside the 5, and they bring JJ Watt (who was nursing a groin injury) in to run the ball with a couple of DL in to block. They get stacked up, bring the QB back in and fail to score, and we all know what happened from there.

I wonder how often they practice this formation. Certainly not enough. Have to show something different on occasion just to keep from being so predictable. I agree with Ditka, something like a ridiculous play followed by something stupid being called.
