  • Illinois St: GDT

Well another big game on this beautiful day in Brookings. Will we be the contenders we've shown to be so often or will we lack a fire? I believe the team will come out strong and be able to put together as complete a game as they have this year, against a great opponent.

    GO JACKS!

From yesterday's paper, the Pantograph, in Normal, IL: "SDSU Defense Challenge for MVC-leading Redbirds".

A November game at South Dakota State's Coughlin-Alumni Stadium usually means pack the gloves and boots. And don't forget the ice scraper for the windshield.
Yet with a balmy forecast high of 50 degrees on Saturday, No. 2 Illinois State has a different temperature concern entering a 2 p.m. Missouri Valley Football Conference game.
The No. 11-ranked Jackrabbits' defense is riding an impressive hot streak, having allowed just two offensive touchdowns over the past four games to boost SDSU to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the Valley.

Hope we hit 8k in here. Looking pretty sparse with 15 to go until KO.

            That is a huge disappointment.

Illinois State wins the toss and defers. Jacks will start with the ball.

Here we go. Lujan is the starting QB.

Jacks go 3 and out to start the game. On a 3rd and 3, Lujan tried to hit Weineke but he slipped and fell and couldn't make the catch.

ISU-R takes over on their own 37.

                28 yard punt for Hale.

On 3rd and 10, Lujan underthrows his man and is intercepted. Offense looks terrible so far. OL getting pushed back.

ISU-R takes over on SDSU's 44 yard line.

                        Terrible throw by Lujan.

Roberson finds Warrum for a big gain to the 5 yard line. Forsythe got beat badly.

Next play, Roberson finds Warrum in the endzone for a TD.

                            ISU-R 7, SDSU 0.

Nice start. Team has no energy. Crowd may have less energy. And speaking of the crowd... you're 6-2, at home, beautiful day vs the #2 team in the country and the stands aren't even half full? Very nice.
