I see FB player Andy Mink is listed on the wrestling roster as a heavyweight. Is he competing tonight?

The Jacks lost today 21-13. We did manage to win the 133 class against the kid who hails from TEN SHEEP, WYOMING (Casey Garnhart).

Some people read what they want to read, and I am guilty, it is Ten Sleep. Just googled it and I stand to be corrected.

Story in the Rapid City Journal:

From the report, the crowd was really into the match.

                    Re: Wyoming

I hate emotional wins, but this is close. Needless to say we have not been very competitive at the D1 level and our history against Wyoming speaks volumes. We have not been competitive with Wyoming in dual matches in recent years until this year.

                    2013 L, 13-21
                    2012 L, 0-45
                    2011 L, 0-49
                    2010 L, 9-34
                    2009 L, 7-38

I'm looking forward to the next few years when we will start to compete with some of Bono's recruits. I mean no disrespect to Pickrel and Walraven, but we have not had much on the roster to compete with NCAA All-Americans since Tyler Sorenson graduated in 2010.

February should be a good month to watch wrestling as the Jacks will host 5 dual matches including against neighboring peer schools NDSU and UNI. I firmly believe that Bono can have this program competing for a Western Wrestling Conference championship in a couple of years.

Well Wyoming is a very thinly populated State. Baaah.

                          Re: Wyoming

The result against a good Wyoming team tells us a lot about the improvements in the program that have already occurred under Coach Bono.

On the subject of Ten Sleep...when you cross the Big Horns, starting at Buffalo on the east side, you come out at Ten Sleep on the west side. You guys need to get out of the house more often.

I, for one, am amazed to say I've driven that route. Beautiful country.

That was a LOOOOONG day though...left Keystone SD at about 8 am and made it to West Yellowstone MT. that night at about 10:30. Didn't anticipate 45 mph speed limits through Yellowstone....

As for the rabbit's...glad we are starting to compete better again!

Love the Big Horns and that drive. I've done a couple of elk hunts in those mountains and hopefully will be listening to the SDSU/UNL football game on the radio from elk camp up there next September.

As for the wrestling match. Hopefully these two teams can make a Spearfish/Rapid city match a tradition. It's good exposure for both teams.
